or just plain looking for a GOOD BOOK?

We can help!

At the Library

Helping readers find the next book to read is a time honored traditional library service, often called "Reader's Advisory." At the library you will find both print and electronic resources, as well as a well trained reference staff, to help you find that next book to read.

Electronic Resources

Novelist, available on the library's computers, is an electronic database dedicated to the fiction reader. It is a searchable database of over 100,000 fiction titles. The database also includes reviews, and more than 36,000 subject headings to help you search. You can search by author, title, keyword or subject.

If you find something you like, check the Library Catalog to see if it is in the library's collection. If not, stop by the reference desk and ask us to interlibrary loan the book for you.

A little shy about using the computer, don't worry, the reference staff is there to walk you through this exciting and easy to use reader's resource.

Print and Other Resources

The library has prepared book lists for various types (genres) of books. Each list includes authors and titles that the library owns. You will find the lists on the shelf endcaps in the adult fiction section. Help yourself!

Do you enjoy doing your own research? The library has a number of helpful "genre" specific guide books in the reference section. Although these books don't check out, you are welcome to use them in the library. The guide books include thrillers, romance, mysteries, detective and crime fiction, young adult fiction, general fiction, horror, sequels and science fiction, as well as non-fiction. Stop by the reference desk to get started.

Don't forget to check out the displays near the circulation desk. The bi-weekly displays feature books and materials related to a particular theme. These materials are all available for checkout.
