Computer Training

Upcoming Computer Classes

A series of four beginner computer classes is being offered this fall, for four Wednesdays at 10 am. Classes take place upstairs at the library. Your Galesburg library card gets you one hour of Internet time a day on the library computers.

If you don’t use the Internet but want to know more about it, the Internet Overview presentation is for you. The overview will give you an idea of the kinds of things that can be done on the Internet. You will observe while the trainer navigates on the computer. If you are brand new to using computers, this is a good session to attend first.

If you have never used a computer mouse before, sign up for Basic Mouse. In this session, you will work through computer mouse exercises with the assistance of a trainer.

The Basic Internet class will get you started surfing the web. In order to attend, you must have the ability to use a mouse and to navigate computer program menus and icons. You will visit a variety of different websites.

If you are comfortable enough with your computer skills to start using email, sign up for the Basic Email class. You will set up a free Hotmail email account and learn how to send, reply to, delete, and print messages. To attend, you must be able to use a mouse and to navigate computer program menus and icons.

You can register for just one class or for all four. A registration fee of $1 is required to reserve a seat in each computer class. Please stop by the Reference Desk to register or for more information.
