Memorial Day. The library will be closed on Monday, May 28, to honor those who have served and died in U.S. wars.

Animanga Mania. Teens, join us for Animanga Mania Afternoons! On May 30 from 3:30-4:30, we’ll be watching an anime series & drawing manga-style. No registration required. For more information on other teen events, click here.
Movie Club. The library's movie group meets at least once a month to see and discuss a new movie with a literary connection. The next outing to the AMC Showplace will be the evening of Tuesday, June 19. The exact title and time will be announced one week in advance. Science Fiction/Fantasy Book Club. What happens when the Earth’s rotation begins to slow? Author Karen Thompson Walker explores this question in The Age of Miracles. The Tome Raiders book club will discuss the book on Friday, May 18, at 6:00 pm at Alternate Realities (238 E. Main St.). The book will not be released until June 26, so we will read not-for-sale, Advance Reader’s Editions. Downloadable books. The Alliance Digital Media Library is the library’s downloadable audio and ebook service. More than 60 central Illinois libraries participate in this service through OverDrive. Book review blog. Looking for a book recommendation? Or want to be warned away from a bad one? Check out Books You Can Die in the Middle of, a blog of book reviews by Galesburg Public Library staff and friends. (Writer P.J. O'Rourke advises, "Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.")
